Kjell studied classical guitar with Antonio Losada, a pupil of Segovia and studied jazz guitar with George Golla.
He studied mathematics and philosophy at university, earning degrees in Science, Education, Musicology, an Honours degree in Music, and a Diploma in Musicianship from Trinity College London.
Having 30 years of teaching experience in adult education privately and with the Institute of Technology, University of Canberra, Kjell is adept at guiding school students and adult learners of any age. He is also currently an AMEB examiner.
Kjell has played guitar as a soloist and with classical and jazz ensembles across different states of Australia but also is vitally interested and involved in playing within the Southern Highlands and Southern Tablelands communities. He is in demand playing within the local area and is often drawn to Sydney (2 hours drive) to play. A recent example being a performance for the Historic Houses Trust.
He was a founding member of The Capricious Consort playing medieval to modern music on period instruments.
Kjell has studied bookmaking in Australia with Dr Jean Riley and overseas in Florence, Italy at the Accademia di Riaci.His work has been exhibited with the Southern Highlands Artist Trail with galleries such as Gallery on Track.
